Bell’s Cove Four Square

This 1880s “Four Square” had substantial rot which was replaced and we opened the main floor of the house by adding a structural LVL beam. This resulted in a much larger kitchen and living area. We added large Kolher windows to maximize the view of the cove which is a joy to look at through all kinds of weather. New cedar shingles to match existing and rebuilt exterior trims. We removed the “woodshed” and rebuilt a similar addition on a new insulated slab - this became a mainfloor bath/laundry. We clad the LVL beam in reclaimed long leaf yellow pine which adds a dramatic effect to the open space which was created out of all the structural work.
