Greek Revival
This 1800s Greek Revival home got a full exterior upgrade to help it stand up to the elements while keeping its historic character intact. We added a rainscreen behind clear eastern cedar shingles for better airflow and long-term durability, and swapped in new windows and PVC trim to match the original look.
We also rebuilt the front porch with cedar decking and a shiplap ceiling — simple materials that look great and will last. One of the trickier parts was accessing and restoring the “Lunenburg Bump,” a classic Nova Scotia detail that’s always a pleasure to work on. The client also asked for a custom “chimney chase,” so we framed one in and finished it with board and batten metal siding — a clean, modern addition that ties in well with the rest of the exterior.
